Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 July 2026
At Strata, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your data when you use our platform, whether you are hiring or being assessed.
Information We Collect
1.1 Personal information. When you create an account or are invited to an assessment, we may collect:
- Full name and email address
- Candidate profile details you provide, such as degree and college
- Organization details for hiring teams (company name, team membership)
- A resume, if you choose to upload one to build your profile
1.2 Technical information. We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the platform: browser type, operating system, usage data such as pages visited, and the first-party cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
1.3 Assessment content. The product exists to evaluate real work, so during an assessment we capture the work itself:
- Code you write, submissions, quiz answers, and interview responses
- Your complete interaction with the built-in AI assistant: every prompt, and every suggestion accepted or rejected
- Video or audio answers, where an assessment stage asks for them
- Communications with the organization that invited you
1.4 Demographic information. Collected only with your explicit consent, stored separately from assessment data, and used solely for adverse-impact analysis. It is never shown alongside your individual results and never influences your score.
How We Use Your Information
- Scoring and reports: to evaluate your assessment work and produce the evidence-backed report for the organization that invited you
- Account management: to create and maintain your account and authenticate you
- Validity research: in aggregate, to verify that our scores predict real performance, which is the core promise of the platform
- Communication: to send assessment invitations, status updates, and important notices
- Platform improvement: to analyze usage patterns and improve our services
- Compliance and security: to meet legal obligations and to detect, prevent, and address fraud and security issues
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only:
3.1 With the hiring organization. The organization that invited you to an assessment sees your report: scores, evidence, submissions, and AI-interaction analysis. That is the purpose of the assessment, and it is visible to you in advance.
3.2 With service providers. We use trusted providers for hosting, email delivery, and AI model inference. They access your information only to perform those functions and are obligated to protect it.
3.3 For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or governmental authority, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
3.4 In a business transfer. In a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
3.5 With your consent. We may share your information at your direction, such as when you make your judgment-scored profile visible to other hiring teams.
Data Security
Measures we use to protect your information include:
- Encryption of data in transit over HTTPS
- Industry-standard password hashing; passwords are never stored in plain text
- httpOnly session cookies, so scripts on a page cannot read your session
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel
- Monitoring and logging of system activity
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes above, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Assessment data may be retained in aggregated or anonymized form for validity research, the analysis that lets us prove scores predict performance. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
Your Rights and Choices
- Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: update inaccurate information through your account or by contacting us
- Deletion: request deletion of your account and personal data, subject to legal obligations
- Consent withdrawal: withdraw demographic-data consent at any time without affecting your assessments
- Portability: request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
To exercise these rights, write to sameera@stratahire.ai or sai@stratahire.ai.

Strata sets first-party cookies only, used to keep you signed in and to secure sign-in flows. We set no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See our Cookie Policy for the complete list.
Third-Party Links
The platform may link to third-party sites, such as a repository you are asked to work from. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of Strata after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
